On April 10, doctors from the Bersenev Medical Center met with representatives of Ukraine’s leading media outlets. During the roundtable discussion, they discussed adult and children’s health, as well as Dr. Bersenev’s proprietary treatment method.
The neurologists chose the recently observed World Health Day and the medical center’s anniversary as the occasion for the meeting.

Air raid sirens, shelling, power outages, uncertainty about the future, and separation from loved ones—all these and other consequences of the war are having a significant impact on the health of Ukrainians, regardless of whether they have remained in their homeland or left to seek refuge from the war. Constant tension has brought neurological problems to the forefront, as war intensifies stress and triggers the exacerbation of ailments: the most common of these are headaches and back pain, insomnia, panic attacks, and so on.
Anna Arkadievna Plavenchuk:
THE BERSENEV MEDICAL CENTER IS A CLINIC WITH A RICH HISTORY

The meeting was opened by Anna Arkadievna Plavenchuk, director of the Bersenev Medical Center. She gave journalists a tour of the center, which is designed with “soul” to ensure the comfort of visitors, including patients with special needs. She spoke about the core principles that have guided the Bersenev Medical Center’s work for many years, principles that have allowed the clinic to remain competitive for so long.
Volodymyr Bersenev:
I HAVE BEEN TREATING PEOPLE FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER
Honored Doctor of Ukraine, creator of the metameric treatment method, and author of over a hundred medical books, Volodymyr Andriyovych Bersenev knows everything about back problems and the nature of pain. Once again, he raised a serious issue regarding the culture of caring for one’s spine, which, unfortunately, is practically nonexistent in Ukraine, whereas in many countries it is practiced from childhood. For example, the doctor is certain that one should absolutely not engage in strength sports until the age of 21! “Muscle and nerve cells need rest; you can exercise them, but you must not overwork them…” the doctor emphasized.

The doctor also spoke about his proprietary treatment method and how he developed it. “Initially, the method involved acupuncture, but experience and observation led me to supplement it with medication. That is how Metameric Reflexology was born,” says Volodymyr Andriyovych himself.
Vira Oleksandrivna Dolgova:
BEFORE DECIDING ON SURGERY, IT IS WORTH TRYING MEDICATION

Vira Dolgova, Medical Director of the Adult Department and a neurologist, raised the issue of how widespread and pressing the problem of spinal injuries and deterioration is due to spinal overload and other war-related issues. “Throughout the war, soldiers have been coming to us, suffering from back pain caused by wearing body armor and the effects of acoustic trauma… Many of them are set on having surgery, but we always do everything possible to avoid it, because relief does not always follow surgical intervention…,” said Vera Oleksandrivna. According to her, metameric massage and injections often bring patients out of critical conditions, making surgery unnecessary.
Vladyslava Olegivna Kulik:
A GENERATION WITH TILTED HEADS IS GROWING UP; THIS IS OUR MAIN PROBLEM NOW…

Vladyslava Kulik, Candidate of Medical Sciences, Medical Director of the Pediatric Department, pediatric neurologist, who worked for a long time as a pediatric oncologist.
The biggest problem today is that a generation with bowed heads is growing up. Gadgets have long since replaced active play, but COVID-19 and the war have exacerbated the situation, resulting in an increase in the number of children and adolescents complaining of headaches, neck and back pain, poor posture, vision problems, emotional instability, dizziness, and loss of consciousness.
The Metameric Method in Simple Terms
The method used by the Bersenev Medical Center is metameric reflexology. In simple terms, it involves the targeted administration of microdoses of medications that have a neurotropic effect (i.e., they are absorbed only by nerve cells), a neuroprotective effect (i.e., they protect nerve cells from damage and the effects of negative factors), and a neurotrophic effect (improving the cell’s functional capacity and nutrition). As a rule, these medications consist of a complex of vitamins and amino acids.
These drugs are specifically designed to improve the function of nerve cells and the nervous system as a whole. Normalizing all the processes for which nerve cells are responsible helps reduce pain and numbness, and improves blood circulation and tissue nutrition.
